Saw this film the other day. Couldn’t picture the poster in my head because the original one is less than memorable.
Had to make my own.

Comedy Central recently announced their new branding redesign. I really like the typography they use, and I understand the need for the company to update their logo. What they came up with is close, but isn’t really my cup of tea.
The font choice is cool. The flipping of the Central seems unnecessary, if only to explain the use of a backwards concentric C.
The brand insignia itself… It makes sense conceptually, I get the “centrality” of it, but isn’t very original and doesn’t convey any sense of Comedy or fun. I understand that the company is a product of Viacom, but they still have a mission of COMEDY. Visually one just sees a © mark. Not much originality.
I’ve come up with my own rendition, taking into account the applications and uses for a corporate brand and still staying within the typographic design story already created. I think its ambiguity and underlying humor capture the brand a little more closely. My two cents…
Thoughts?
UPDATE: After months of viewing the new campaign, I like what they did. It works, especially in motion graphics.

With all the Conan love, I figured I’d give Andy Richter his due.
If I parody Obey Giant in the process, all the better.
I’m doing some work for a friend and ended up doing a Golden Book style portrait of her.
This is the tale of a year-long attempt by Chris Gethard and the twitterverse to have Diddy Dirty Money appear at Chris’ live show.
Flash forward 10 months…
Hooray for internets.
Tweet @iamdiddy #diddygethard to make it happen.
UPDATE: It happened. I got turned away at the door. Others did too.
